emily august began playing guitar in high school, but has been singing in church and advanced choral groups her entire life. emily has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory through Monmouth University’s Interdisciplinary degree program from which she earned a Student of the Year Award in 2003. she prefers to play keyboards, loves the sound of tambourines, and pairs her musical influences with her poetic idols. she has recorded a CD ep for Monotone Records and played shows in NYC. emily has been putting on private shows with friends in backyards and basements for about 10 years, occassionally teaming up with local bars and venues to put together dance parties and music events. emily is also a talented church music leader, and enjoys singing harmony and playing guitar in singalong settings with family and friends.
