About Emily August

Emily August is a shore-born writer and photographer who now lives in historic downtown Jersey City.  Emily earned her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (concentration in English and Music) from Monmouth University. Her wealth of experience and network of professional and amateur artists has accumulated to nearly 10 years of  production and participation in music and art shows across the country.  She has been documenting life through a lens for about the same amount of time.

Experience

Emily enjoys creating processes where none exist and solidifying abstract concepts through visual design.  She has studied digital design software (Photoshop + Illustrator + InDesign) at the Fashion Institute of Technology and can seamlessly translate these skills into business communications using traditional mediums such as Microsoft Office.  She has a mastery of communication design with a marketing edge that is informed by her prolific business experience in everything from Fortune 100 Financial Services to Non-Profit Education.  In addition to her graphic design and photographic endeavors, Emily enjoys other creative hobbies such as writing poetry and music, sewing, and collecting vintage clothing.  You’ll find a sampling of all of that here.

Emily is the founder and host of the popular Jersey City Drawing Club.
Emily is a proud member of the Jersey City Craft Mafia, and the Freelancers Union.

Emily currently works full-time as a Marketing + Technology associate with a woman-owned consulting business in Manhattan. Emily is a member of the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE), and has previously worked as a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Professionals.
