mouse's lion cut

Hi everyone! I have not been blogging lately because I have been so busy working on writing samples, and narrowing down grad school programs. Things are also busy at work, which I am enjoying, and so I’ve actively made the decision to focus a little less on my creative work while I take care of these applications and prepare for next year, whatever that ends up being for me.

Meanwhile, please enjoy these photos of my coworkers: Mouse, Oliver, Scout, and Sir Edmund.

Texas Instruments TI 99 4/a

I am putting this amazing family computer console up for sale soon and it is breaking my heart. Its a Texas Instruments that I had when I was a kid, though not the same machine since I bought this a few years ago at the Philly Classic V. I watched a few episodes of Clean House this morning to psych myself up for listing items for sale on eBay, but it didn’t help. I am totally admitting that I have hoarding tendencies and that I have put this off for years.

That being said, I have played with this machine exactly once since we moved to Jersey City and maybe twice when I had it at home in my parents house in recent years. I am just putting it here to relish in its beauty and remember the old friend later on. Really, it breaks my heart.

The kicker came when Rory loaded pages and pages of old school video game ROMs onto his Wii, and they are just as good as the originals, if not better since the controllers actually respond. Besides, I would really like to try out Wii Fit and I need to get rid of stuff so that I can move across the country at a moment’s notice (or up the street, or not at all).

Feeling like an outsider always just felt right to me.

We miss Allison.

Jen (pictured) and Allison (picture taker) are on the West Coast, visiting San Francisco, Portland, Oregon, and Seattle. I am jealous but loving watching the flickr updates.

Rory and I aren’t traveling again until February I think. We had a raucous, globe-trotting summer, anyway.

But, also we are trying to join a food co-op in our neighborhood. Anyone ever do this? I had a manager on Wall Street once who told me all about it, and it blew my mind.
