productive holiday weekend

Posted in uncategorized on November 25th, 2007 by emily august – 4 Comments

This four day weekend was awesome. We got to see both Rory’s family and mine, and I finally got to move all my junk up to the apartment from my parents’ basement. I am still going through it all, and probably will be going through it for a long while! I tried to pay Rory for helping me so much with all the heavy boxes, and books, but he wouldn’t have it!

Allison and I talked about making the second living room a music room, so I got to do a little organizing to that end. Everything is at least now in the room that its meant to be in. I wish I had a few more days to spend at home to finish this.

But, you know, its so much less important that a music room look pretty than it sound good, or that you can be productive in it. We’ll see how the the four track acoustics sound, and report back with some new recordings or a cry of help from an audio engineer. Between the three of us, I’m sure its going to be amazing.

And, finally, I was so very productive today that I finished my part of the Ashley Sue Ornament Swap a few days early! Click the link below for my tutorial on these dazzling little darling ornaments. Totally fabulous.

photoshop weekend

Sometimes I would rather play with Photoshop than clean my apartment. Yep.

I’m also quitting my job, and taking a few days to move things from my parents’ house at the end of the week, so I’ve got a few piles of things to get rid of before I bring more stuff into the apartment. I kind of wish Daylight Savings Time meant that I had two extra days. I have an old friend coming up to stay with me tomorrow, and I’d really better go and fold some laundry.

Love,
The girl who sold her soul to the Adobe Creative Suite.

little sewing kit

Put together a little bundle of sewing notions and scrap fabrics for my niece, who turned 10 on Halloween. Hopefully she likes the gift! We’ve sewn and made zines together before, and I’m hoping to foster a bit of creativity in her as she grows older.
